if you have an inquisitive mind and critical thinking, are you comfortable disagreeing about factual information?

i really do appreciate all the help you guys have given me in this process.

but it's time for me to leave.

it was time for me to leave the wt (at least in my mind) when it became damaging to me.

Yes, you are correct and I agree with you. Maybe not with your departure, but with your observations.

You need to develop a certain type of attitude here, as well as an additional set of filters.

There are some here that are sooo full of sh**, they could start the "Out-House Cult".

They think just because they have left a "cult", they are now above everything, and everyone.

They are so steeped in THAT fantasy, that they should be given a free lifetime pass to Disneyland.

Little do they know what is being done to them, EVERY DAY, by the masters of brainwashing. The WTS/GB are just a bunch of amateurs compared to them.

Take your break, and when you come back, you will be a better poster for it.

Its good that he keeps his religious views to himself, I agree with randy, and I think it makes his views less bias.
I don't care who you are.
Your religious views CANNOT be kept to yourself, especially if you write articles, books, whatever.
At the very least, they WILL make their subtle appearences.

i've been watching the bio channel lately and hearing people relate their stories of ghosts and the supernatural.. although i think some people do experience demonic presences, i think some people (for whatever reason) find it difficult to move on.

jws believe everything is caused by "demons," but there are many near death experiences where people clearly seem to see family members who have helped them and who have manifested themselves with feelings of peace and serenity.

since i don't believe that satan can duplicate these feelings of well being, i was wondering what you think of such manifestations, good or bad.. also, have you ever had any experiences, again, good or bad, in your lives?

If one is skeptical of paranormal activity, they can find a local "ghost hunter" group, contact them and ask them if they can participate in a few of their "hunts".

It's really that simple.

Did born-in's have the capacity to "test their faith"?

2 corinthians 13: 5a - 5 examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.. this verse just comes at me like a locomotive.. to examine something is to truly use my mental capacities and to look at something objectively.. how do i accomplish this, even now?.

i was raised in an organization that controlled my information and used fear of rejection as well as my need for approval to "inculcate" the "truth" into me.. by that right, i (and all born-ins) do not have the ability to examine our faith (as a jw).. there will always be an artificial pull either for or against the society (whether we are aware of it or not).. free will has been comprimised; therefore our "faith to our creator" has been tainted and cannot be judged as worthy or unworthy.. of course many of us have regained our ability to discern and look at things objectively.. but i believe that we will never be able to truly look at the watchtower organization without a slant.. not to say the conclusions we come to regards to the organization are not valid (because they are and have been validated).

my point is that the organization has no right to judge and ostracize any born-in for leaving and even for speaking out.. they broke us, and now they are demonizing us for the things we did in that broken state.
